Stone is cut, so radii are small. Roundness is spent on two signature shapes, the pointed arches, and on nothing else. See every shape in the playground.
Radius
| Token | Value |
|---|---|
--san-radius-none | 0rem |
--san-radius-xs | 0.125rem |
--san-radius-sm | 0.25rem |
--san-radius-md | 0.5rem |
--san-radius-lg | 0.75rem |
--san-radius-xl | 1.25rem |
--san-radius-full | 624.9375rem |
radius-full makes a pill or a circle; everything else stays close to square.
Arches
Two pointed arches are generated as percentage polygons, for clip-path. They exist only in the stylesheet, because the DTCG format has no clip paths.
--san-shape-lancet: an arch on a rectangular body, for media, cards and window previews.--san-shape-ogive: the arch alone, for avatars and badges.
.cover {
aspect-ratio: 3 / 4;
clip-path: var(--san-shape-lancet);
background: var(--san-window);
}
The quarry
The diamond, a square turned 45°, is the small-scale motif: bullets, status dots, the accent picker. It is the quarry, the plain diamond pane of ordinary glazing. It needs no token, only rotate: 45deg.
Lead
Borders are lead: dark, definite lines between panes, structure rather than decoration. came is the line between two panes; the colors are lead-soft, lead, lead-strong and lead-came, described on the color page.
| Token | Value |
|---|---|
--san-border-width-hairline | 1px |
--san-border-width-cameThe lead line between two panes. | 2px |
--san-border-width-heavy | 3px |
